How we handle your personal information under POPIA.
Who we are
TheTechMart (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). You can reach us on WhatsApp at 071 662 3565 or at thetechmart2020@gmail.com.
What we collect
Your name and phone number when you make an offer, buy, book a meetup, sell or trade in a device, or sign up for a referral link. Your email address if you give it. Your delivery address for courier orders. The area, date and time for meetups. Device details and photos when you sell or trade in. We do not store your card details. Card payments are made on Yoco's own secure page.
Why we use it
To process your order or offer, arrange delivery, collection or a meetup, give warranty support, reply to you on WhatsApp, pay referral rewards and keep our sales records. We do not sell your information.
Who we share it with
Only the people who need it to serve you: The Courier Guy (name, phone and address for delivery), Yoco (card payments), our hosting and database providers (Vercel and Supabase), Elfsight (the reviews display on our site) and WhatsApp when you message us. If you accept analytics, Microsoft Clarity also sees how you use the site.
Cookies and analytics
If you arrive through a referral link, we keep the referral code in your browser for 30 days so the referrer can be credited. With your permission we use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use the site, for example where they tap and where they get stuck. What you type into forms is masked and is not recorded. You can say no and still use the whole site. You can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser.
How long we keep it
We keep order and payment records for as long as we need them for warranty, accounting and legal reasons. Other enquiries are deleted when we no longer need them.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, unless we must keep it by law. Message us on WhatsApp or email and we will respond. If you are not happy with how we handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
